Hello!!

It is the last day of debrief! We head out early tomorrow morning, Wednesday, March 23! It will be a long couple days of travel, but I am excited to get to Ecuador!

I am not sure if I will have any service where we are staying, so I wanted to give you all the information I know right now!!

My squad’s leaders were very impressed with the way my squad handled the choice between Romania and Ecuador. They truly saw the each of us take the decision to the Lord and follow His lead. In the end that choice was taken away from us, but the leaders prayed about it and wanted to give us another opportunity. For Ecuador, we were able to choose which ministry we wanted to go to. In order to fill all of the ministries we prayed and wrote down our top three choices, and from there the leaders placed us into our ministries.

All of the ministries are amazing, but as I prayed, only one stirred my heart. I wrote it down along with two others that I could probably get excited about. I prayed that I would end up in the one God truly wanted me to be at, and I believe I did.

I will be doing ministry with Dunamis, the one ministry that stirred my heart. πŸ™‚

Dunamis is an organization that rescues women and girls out of sex trafficking, gives them a safe place to live, and helps them on their journey to healing by introducing them to Jesus Christ. I am not certain about what my team will be doing, but I have heard that we could help in the garden (I am so excited to use my skills from Timion πŸ˜‰ The garden is honestly a really special place to me now), kitchen, directly with the girls, and/or with any special projects they have going on at the time. I wish I could tell you more, but that is honestly all I know. Google could probably tell you more than I can. I am eager to jump in and love big. I know this ministry will be really great at moments and really hard at others, but we serve a big God, and I know He will move powerfully in the next two months!

Because everyone was able to choose which ministry to go to, all teams were scrambled. This is hard, but the Lord has prepared us for it! I am really excited for everyone on my original team to be where God is calling them. They each have passions and callings, and I believe that choosing in to where God called them is great preparation for going home. I also know that we will pursue each other outside of ministry. It will be hard, but it will make us stronger! With that being said, I am now leading a new team!! Peyton (was on Aurora), Katie Beth, Lexi, and Maja! I am excited to make deeper relationships with these girls and to have people that challenge me in new ways. I believe these two months will be very sweet with them!

We will be close to Quito, Ecuador. I have heard we are staying at 13,000 ft elevation, so pray for no altitude sickness! It will be around 50 degrees, and we are surrounded by snow capped mountains! Other than that, Ecuador looks very similar to Guatemala.

Our squad will be split up. My team will be staying with one other team that is also working at Dunamis and possibly one more team working a christian camp. The other half of the squad is staying at base further down the mountain. I believe we will have the option to see them on the weekends, but I am not sure.

Just in case I have no service, I will be back in Georgia the last week of May!! We will only be in Ecuador for two months. We have final debrief the last week of May, and then I come home May 29th!!!!!!!!!!!

Prayer Request:

  • That I can truly walk with the Lord throughout this ministry
  • That I can set healthy boundaries in this new team
  • For a safe space to recover!!
  • Deeper friendship
  • Preparing to come home

I love you all so much, and so does He!!

  1. So good to hear from you. Sounds like you will be going to a beautiful location, praying for your mission and safety. Can’t wait for May 29.

  2. Hi! Thanks again for posting info about Ecuador. The new ministry choice sounds challenging but I am sure you will learn lots of new things. I will be thinking of you and praying specifically for you in this. I sure hope you have communication where you are at too! Take care of yourself-
